GENERAL
By
signing this contract the parties agree with the conditions below, complementarily
or subsidiarily regulated by the common Civil Legislation for the Letting
of Services and by the Rules for Consumer Rights, in particular, Act
5/1985 of the Spanish Regional Government and Act 26/84 concerning the
defence of consumers and users.
Regarding the Personal Data Act 15/1999,
we inform you that your personal details will be only internally used
by Galilea and you have the right to rectify or cancel them at any moment.
According to law, Galilea is not liable for cases of force majeure or
for the students’ actions.
I. The minimum age for participation
in any of our courses is 18 (excepcionally Galilea may admit minors
with special written permission from parents after approval from Galilea
directors and teachers).
II. On formalising enrolment and accommodation, students accept all
General Conditions, Payment Conditions and Payment Methods, previously
given and read.
II. CLASSES
I. In peak season some classes could
be given in classrooms outside of our installations.
II. All classes are taught in the Spanish language.
III.Christmas and Holy Week holidays are not counted as teaching days.
III. ACCOMMODATION
I.Living conditions will be established
according to the student´s selection.
II.In peak season the students may be located at different type of accommodation
at a corresponding price.
III. The student will be responsible for broken items´ replacement
due to either negligence or by intention.
IV. INSURANCE
I. Civil liability: Galilea has a civil
liability insurance policy that covers possible incidents or minor accidents
that may occur within its premises. Galilea is not responsible for the
loss or theft of students´ personal belongings. However, we recommend
you to have your own insurance policy.
II. Medical: EU citizens are advised to bring the
E111 form with them.Together with the E111 and the medical bill you
will be able to claim the medical expenses from your country of origin.
We recommend the students from other countries to take out a medical
insurance policy provided by Galilea that guarantees coverage for the
illnesses stipulated on the above-mentioned policy.
V. VISA
I. Students from Western Europe do
not require a visa to enter Spain. Student from other countries must
enquire about obtaining a visa at the Spanish embassy or consulate closest
to them.
VI.
RESERVATIONS, CHANGES AND ACCEPTANCE
I. The advanced payment for confirmation
of the reservation will be 30 % of the fees of the course.
II. For the confirmation of reservations made 2 weeks or less before
arrival, the total amount must be paid in full plus the corresponding
last-minute enrolment fee, see points 6.3 and 6.4.
III. A last-minute enrolment fee will be charged of 25 € for reservations
and changes made 2 weeks or less before arrival.
IV. A last-minute enrolment fee will be charged of 50 € for last-minute
reservations and changes made 1 week or less before arrival.
V. 32 € will be charged for administrative costs in changes of course
or accommodation after arrival.
VII. ADMISSION
OR EXPULSION
I. Galilea reserves the right of admission
if 20 days before the start of course they have not paid the total sum
of the course, accommodation and other services contracted (with exception
of last minute reservations. See point 6.2).
II. In the case of a serious disciplinary offence, repeated bad behaviour
of infringement of the laws of the country in which the course is taking
place, the student will be expelled from the school and accommodation
contracted with Galilea without the right to any refund.
III. In the case where damages are caused to third parties, all the
expenses claimed from Galilea that originate from the above-mentioned
incident will be charged to the student who will have no right to later
claims.
VIII. CANCELLATIONS
I. Cancellations before arrival will
only be accepted in writing (letter, telegram, e-mail or fax).
II. For cancellations prior to the last two weeks before arrival, there
will be a penalisation of 50 % of the advanced payment.
III. For the cancellation in the last two weeks before arrival the advanced
payment which is the 30% of the course fee will not be refunded.
IV.By no means, payment for the course, accommodation and services will
be refunded once the course has started (except in the case of the refund
guarantee. See point 9).
IX. REFUND
GUARANTEE
I. We recommend our special guarantee
of cancellation. The cost of this guarantee is 3% of the total of sum
of the invoice. We refund the sum of the course, accommodation and services
(excluded from this refund are the enrolment costs, the time already
spent, the sum of the guarantee clause and the journey).
II. The guarantee is personal and non-transferable
and will be applicable to the following cases: work, examination, illness
(of both the student and a family member), pregnancy, inability to obtain
the required visa or the obligation of doing military service. The time
period covered by this guarantee is from the day of enrolment until
the finalisation of the course and accommodation with Galilea.
* These fees are valid until the
31st of December 2004.
X. TERMS
OF PAYMENT
- The advanced payment must be
received before your arrival.
- Please put your name and Galilea
on all documents relating to transfers.
- All bank charges will be under
your responsibility. In the case whereby the bank charges us with a
commission, we reserve the right to charge you with the same sum on
your arrival.
- Whatever the way of payment you
chose, please send or fax to us the payment notification in order to
speed up with the papers.
